Change in Methodology

Thank you for the feedback last week. It started to make me view my research project in a different light. Dr. Swan suggested a control group but I was not sure how I would go about completing this because I only have four classes. However, I am going to have a baseline of students (control group) that does not receive any treatment of peer feedback. This group will be a set of students from the summer portion of Educational Technology. I also appreciate Diane’s comment about student providing valuable feedback because of being able to review the material. I did not think about this being an advantage. I also thought that peer feedback online is convenient for when students are ill or have to miss class. This provides them with the opportunity that they would not normally have in a face-to-face course. The online methods provide students with more time to think and write what they are going to say before posting it online. Students have more time to review, evaluate, and process their peer’s project. Hussain remarked about the content analysis of the students feedback. I am considering a basic descriptive analysis but if you have any other thoughts from your measurement and evaluation background, please let me know. I also like your idea about interviewing a few of the students from each group. I am considering that as another research project for next semester.
Thank you again for your feedback.
